A Day at HRS

At Hamlin Robinson, the school day is carefully built around concentrated periods of instruction in all academic areas. The morning assembly fosters a sense of community by bringing the entire school together to sing songs, share announcements and acknowledge birthdays and other special events. The Question of the Day encourages students to practice oral language skills, public speaking, being a respectful audience and respecting their peers.

Following the morning assembly, students move into the morning language arts block. Here teachers focus primarily on written language and reading. The reading period is structured so that each child is placed with age appropriate peers working at a similar level. Small reading groups allow the teacher to focus on the needs of each student.

After lunch, the afternoon begins with math class, followed by other content areas such as science, social studies, technology, library and the arts. At the end of the school day, students can stay at HRS and participate in Homework Club, sports, or a variety of enrichment activities. For more information on after-school opportunities click here.
