Profession:  Alan has been involved with two-way radio and wireless communications since he was a child.  His profession was installing and maintaining communications systems and since 1982 he has owned and managed companies that do so.

Personal Interests:  Hiking, boating, scuba diving, computers, music, wine, Scotch whisky, traveling, geology, wildlife & pets.
He has served on the board of the Child & Family Guidance Center and the Technology Advisory Board for Bates Technical College.
He is also a member of Tacoma Yacht Club, The Point Defiance Zoo Society, The Washington State Historical Society and the Tacoma Glass Museum.
