The quality and success of the HRS program lies in the heart of its excellent classroom teachers, specialists, and exceptionally dedicated administrative and support staff. These professionals bring expertise, experience, and above all, a keen understanding of the challenges our students and their families face.

Research tells us that the most important component of an effective reading program is the quality of the teacher training and support. All lower school classroom teachers and middle school reading and language arts teachers are required to have advanced training in the Slingerland, a structured, sequential, multi-sensory approach to reading and writing instruction. In addition, HRS supports professional development in all multi-sensory teaching techniques that enhance and solidify the experience of our students. Teachers at HRS find a unity of purpose that provides a rewarding professional experience.
