Our admission procedures are designed to gather sufficient information through interviews, observations, questionnaires, evaluation data, and recommendations to understand if HRS is a good fit for the child and the family. We work closely with parents to determine the appropriateness of the school’s program for their child. Hamlin Robinson School has rolling admissions and accepts applications for admission and regularly admits qualified students throughout the second week of February on a space available basis. To apply for admission to Hamlin Robinson School, a student must be previously identified or in process of assessment for specific language disability or dyslexia. Parents should complete the following steps: Tour the school or meet with the Admissions Director to discuss the student. Submit a completed application form, answering all the items as fully as possible. A non-refundable $100.00 application fee should be included. Submit copies of at least one of the following evaluation criteria:
Submit the previous year's report card. Submit any other information pertinent to assessing the applicant's educational needs, such as previous standardized testing, current Individual Education Plan (IEP), and/or other school records. Request a recommendation from teacher or tutor who currently works with the student. Complete and return the Request for Records form. Once the above information is received, the child’s forms and records will be reviewed. Prospective students will then be asked to visit a Hamlin Robinson School (HRS) classroom. The visit includes participation in class activities, as appropriate, including lunch and recess. The school's caring, nurturing environment makes the visit comfortable for the prospective student.
