ISEE Test Prep Course
Each fall, the HRS Learning Center offers an ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) Test Preparation Course for HRS 8th graders.
The ISEE is a nationally recognized, standardized assessment of an individual student’s reasoning and achievement, accepted by over 1,200 independent schools around the world.
This course is taught by Edward Alvarran, a former HRS intermediate and middle school level teacher, and will offer students an opportunity to prepare for the ISEE through:
- Previewing and practicing with the test’s format
- Learning and practicing standardized test taking strategies
- Reviewing some concepts and material on the exam
- Taking ISEE practice tests
The course is designed for those students who plan to take the ISEE, although students not registering to take the test may take the class for experience. The class will provide students with valuable standardized testing experience, teach them strategies, and help them create mindsets that will be of benefit them through high school, into college and beyond.
