Upcoming Professional Development Opportunities:January 19-21 and Feb 2-4 2012 Wired for Reading Grounded in research, the ©Wired Fore Reading Introductory Course is organized and presented in four parts: Teacher Essentials; Linguistic Foundation; Core Phonics for ‘words that play fair’; and Word Study strategies for words that do not. July 5 - August 1 2012 Slingerland Training Slingerland Summer Courses are offered as intensive, 4-week, full-day training sessions and include a hands-on teaching practicum. In this summer course, participants will learn how to present information including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension, along with spelling and writing — so the visual, auditory and kinesthetic-tactile pathways are used simultaneously to enhance student academic performance.
