| Student Council |
|
Developing students’ leadership ability, self-confidence, communication and listening skills is an important component of the HRS program. Participation in Student Council provides students a wonderful opportunity to get involved in the school while at the same time acquire valuable lifelong talents. Specifically, Student Council allows children to work on their speaking and presentation skills as well as their social interaction with peers. The Student Council meets monthly or more and is comprised of representatives from grades 4-8. This group plans school-wide service learning projects and community events. It also provides a forum for discussion and resolution of school issues that are appropriate for student involvement. Students on the council report back to their classrooms and solicit input from their classmates. |
