On May 5, 2005, the Seattle School Board approved the lease of the TT Minor building to the Hamlin Robinson School. The new location at 1700 E Union St, Seattle WA is part of an active communtiy in the Central District and Capitol Hill. By moving to the TT Minor site, Hamlin Robinson can significantly expand its capacity to serve children and families in the Seattle area who are struggling with dyslexia and similar language-related learning issues. HRS has an ambitious and compelling vision: to expand its program by establishing a comprehensive center for dyslexia education, research and information and become a nationally recognized resource for language and learning. Moving to the TT Minor property is the first step in realizing this vision. With the TT Minor site, Hamlin Robinson’s vision is to leverage the proven strengths and transformational qualities of the school to build a multi-dimensional program which includes four distinct components:
In addition, the opportunities for collaboration with Seattle Public Schools and community organizations are numerous. HRS brings a highly specialized body of knowledge and expertise to children and families that desperately need it. Additionally, we provide professional development opportunities for Seattle teachers.
