College & Career Readiness
Next Steps Initiative
College & Career Readiness Program
In partnership with Franklin Academy (Connecticut), the HRS Learning Center is excited to introduce the College & Career Readiness Program as part of the Next Steps Initiative. This college readiness program is designed to support students with learning differences as they look ahead to their futures.
By providing unique learning experiences within a supportive framework, CCRP will help students develop and/or strengthen crucial skills for their academic and professional futures. The program equips high school students with essential tools and strategies to successfully navigate the complexities of higher education and/or the workplace.
The program emphasizes the development of critical transitional skills through a series of classes focused on self-awareness, executive functioning, problem-solving, and self-advocacy. Students benefit from a comprehensive curriculum that includes college readiness assessments, a virtual educational series, and at-home skill-building activities, equipping them with the necessary tools and strategies to succeed in higher education, the workplace, and beyond.
During its first year, the College & Career Readiness Program will be open to 9th and 10th graders. The program will expand to include 11th and 12th graders in the 2025-2026 school year.
