Better Understand How Your Student Learns
The Learning Center at HRS offers screenings to help families understand their student's learning. Screening gives families an initial look at a learner’s strengths and challenges and can help determine whether additional evaluation or support may be helpful.
Our experienced staff offer three types of screenings for students from kindergarten through high school:
- STAR CBM Screening — a brief, nationally recognized dyslexia and reading screening tool for students in grades K–5
- Slingerland® Screening — a more comprehensive screening that provides insight into auditory, visual, kinesthetic, and working memory processing related to reading, writing, and language development
- Literacy Quest Screening - free literacy screening opportunities for eligible students in grades K–5
Following each screening, families receive individualized feedback, recommendations, and guidance on possible next steps and support options.
