I hear stories of student success featuring newfound skills and confidence, stories of lives changed after finding the educational program at Hamlin Robinson School; and, yes, stories of struggle and hardship with educational success and a sense of worth.

I hear stories of student success featuring newfound skills and confidence, stories of lives changed after finding the educational program at Hamlin Robinson School; and, yes, stories of struggle and hardship with educational success and a sense of worth.
In September at our first Family Association meeting of the year, each parent shared a personal anecdote about what was going well for their student at Hamlin Robinson School. After hearing from 35+ parents, I’ll admit to being somewhat choked up when it was my turn to speak. The stories were so heartfelt and provided important windows into the impact of our educational program.
These stories are prevalent in my ongoing coffee meetings with new families, where I invite parents to share how the recent transition to HRS has gone for their child. Again, it’s been an honor to hear how student anxieties and learning struggles have turned to newfound confidence in learning.
Each story holds power - power to inspire; power to connect; power to share wisdom; power to build community.
Hamlin Robinson School is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. When we enrolled our first 11 students in 1983, we knew that our educational program had the potential to change lives. We learned quickly just how powerful our structured, sequential, multi-sensory literacy program is for students and how much positive impact this has on entire families.
As a part of our 40th anniversary, in tandem with this year’s Annual Fund, HRS is collecting your stories so that everyone has an opportunity to connect, to be inspired, and to understand our community.
