A Note from Stacy

In the two decades that I’ve been a part of Hamlin Robinson School, I’ve had numerous opportunities to witness the strength of our community. One of those times came when, after only three years in our then-brand-new school (now the Lower School), we decided to purchase adjacent property and build a Middle School. After a successful capital campaign and front-row seats to construction, we moved into the new HRS Middle School one year ago during an extended Thanksgiving break. That is strength!

As a community, we’ve also weathered the Covid storm and its lingering effects. It has been satisfying to witness the evolution back to in-person meetings and events. Initial and tentative forays back into groups and crowds have given way to standard community gatherings again. What a welcome relief!

The common purpose of the HRS community unites us. We want the best for our children, our students. We want to ignite their academic and creative potential. Families want to connect with others who share similar, though unique, journeys.

It seems that what many of us learned from social distancing is that we do better when we can be together. A common theme that I’ve heard from multiple parents is that “we want more opportunities to gather, more connections with each other.”

I am grateful that you, as a community, want to grow stronger. We have a volunteer Family Association that facilitates ways to connect. We have alumni students who gather together each year to catch up on each other’s lives. We have alumni parents who continue to support Hamlin Robinson School through service on panels, attending the auction, and supporting us financially long past their days at the school.

Hamlin Robinson School is mission-driven to maximize its effect in serving our internal and external community. We are also community-driven to provide opportunities for you to build connections with our school and with each other. We are still exploring all the ways to fully utilize our vibrant and beautiful campus. I look forward to working with each of you to create an ever-stronger community.
