As a part of an investigation in how special education is handled in Washington, KING 5's Susannah Frame visited Hamlin Robinson School to highlight the Vandell family.
The Vandells faced many of the same struggles that families go through prior to coming to HRS. Their boys hated school, struggled with reading and writing, and they weren't receiving the support they needed to learn.
Just months after coming to HRS and being exposed to a multi-sensory approach to reading and writing, Jake and Ryan read their first books.
KING 5 visited Jake and Ryan's classrooms and spoke with Head of School Stacy Turner and Jessica Ruger, Director of Enrollment Management. You can watch their story below, or click here to read the entire story.
