BEYONd the classroom

The Joan Beauregard Endowment for Discovery and Enrichment creates meaningful experiences that broaden students’ perspectives and spark curiosity beyond the classroom. Through this program, students engage with cultural, historic, civic, artistic, and scientific ideas that inspire creativity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. While enrichment opportunities are often among the first programs reduced when budgets tighten, this endowment ensures these transformative experiences remain a vibrant part of an HRS education.

Discovery and Enrichment guests introduce students to new possibilities for their futures through engaging presentations, performances, and hands-on experiences. Many speakers share their own journeys with dyslexia or other learning differences, showing students how challenges can become strengths and pathways to success. Others offer fascinating insight into careers, talents, and perspectives students may not otherwise encounter. From musicians, architects, scientists, filmmakers, dancers, actors, and authors to innovators and community leaders, each experience is designed to educate, inspire, and expand what students believe is possible.
